The SBRC provides an opportunity for local small business owners and potential owners to become more educated on the various aspects of owning and operating a business.
We have added a new SBRC FAQ Section where chamber members can submit questions to our panel of SBRC Advisors. Your question will be emailed to the chamber office and then routed to the appropriate SBRC Advisor for review. Your question and the advisor's answer will be posted shortly.
The SBRC was started in 2005 with the objective of creating a mentor group of small business owners as a resource to offer advice, and provide an opportunity to others to benefit from their experiences in the community. We organized a series of business seminars to help our members with business skills. In 2008, we saw the need to also create an on-line FAQ forum to our web site to answer many of your business questions.
We have worked very hard to bring you this new tool to help you deal with the challenges in today’s tough business environment. We have assembled an excellent group of people on the Small Business Resource Committee (SBRC) who has volunteered to share their knowledge and experience for the benefit of other businesses in the community. The committee members that helped create this site are Bill Flinta (Valley Savings), Dan Jucikas (Jucikas Computer Services, Inc.), Cindy Lewis (SMF Chamber of Commerce), Linda Trevorrow (Benjamin & Trevorrow), Larry Brimlow (Brimlow Benefits Agency), Brandon Huth (formerly with Huntington Bank) and Kiran Khaitan (Kiran’s Kustom Jewelry). Holly Rhoades (The Ruby Group), and Anup Gupta (AG Promo Solutions) are the newest members of our committee, who have graciously agreed to volunteer their time for the good of the cause. We want to give a special thank you to Dan Jucikas for his countless hours of work to set up the web page and work with the committee to make this a reality.
Up coming events for next year include a small business seminar series starting in September of 2010. We invite you to join us at our monthly meetings and become a part of the Small Business Resource Committee. Monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at the SMF Chamber office from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. If you want to join or have any questions, please fee free to contact me.
